The 2024 summer transfer window is coming closer to an end. It’s always a good thing to see which players decide to stay and which ones decide to leave. More importantly, fans are eager to know if some great players will strengthen the lines of their favourite clubs.
That’s how the Trent Alexander Arnold Real Madrid deal came in. Let’s see the timeline, rumours, and whether this story about him leaving FC Liverpool is actually true or not.
Rich Career in Liverpool and Idea to Move Further
The story behind the Englishman’s success is definitely worth mentioning. As a young player, Alexander Arnold joined one of the football camps in Liverpool. Later on, Trent became part of the FC Liverpool Academy.
He showed some skills to remember, and many scouts, coaches, and older players noticed that. One of the anecdotes involves Steven Gerrard predicting how good of a player Arnold will be.
Playing as a wide midfielder, and then switching to the right-back, the Englishman’s job does not really revolve around goalscoring.
On the other hand, Trent’s huge ability to control the ball, step into the midfield and play in a hybrid position (two positions interchangeably) led many experts to compare him to none other than aforementioned Steven Gerrard.
At the moment, Alexander Anrold is 25 years old. Like many other players, he may not be planning on staying at Anfield during his entire career. Apparently, this turned into rumours of Trent leaving Liverpool soon.
Trent Alexander Arnold to Real Madrid Rumours
It all started with rumours around this spring when the contract length of a couple of Liverpool players came into focus. One of the players was, of course, Alexander Arnold. Namely, the Englishman’s contract ends in July 2025, after which Trent becomes a free agent.
Lots of fans and journalists started speculating about Arnold leaving Liverpool after that. And, Trent himself made some moves hinting at his potential transfer. All this resulted in a surge of news, guesses, and predictions.
Trent Alexander Arnold Real Madrid Alleged Agreement
So, is Trent Alexander Arnold going to Real Madrid or not? To be honest, it’s really hard to tell. After all the rumours that I mentioned above, one Spanish portal published an article stating that Arnold will, in fact, join Los Blancos in 2025 after he becomes a free agent.
It’s so interesting that some veterans of this sport, such as Jamie Carragher, sent a message to Arnold which may hold him back from going to Real Madrid. Carragher suggested that it may be difficult for the Englishman to find the spot due to Carvahal firmly holding his position. Even if Trent plays as a wide midfielder, he may still have to overrun some serious competition.
Anyhow, it will still be almost one year until Alexander’s contract officially ends. Of course, transfers are usually done about half a year before the contract ends. So, the Englishman may still wait until early 2025 before he makes his official decision.
