With the Premier League transfer window closing soon, the teams have already almost but finalised their teams for the coming seasons. While we still may expect to see bombs happening on the very last day, big names have already changed clubs or have decided to give it a go in England.
With all sorts of Premier League transfers and rumours being mentioned everywhere, we would like to highlight the top ones that are sure to make an impact in the coming season. More Premier League transfer news is sure to come out soon; here are our thoughts on the most prolific ones.
Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal)
One of the standout performers of the most recent 2024 Euro, Riccardo Calafiori is making a move to the Gunners. He will exchange the Serie A for the Premier League for a reported fee of €45.00m. Calafiori impressed everyone in Bologna last season, helping them reach their first Champions League outing in history.
He became a standard player in Luciano Spalletti’s Italy side and excelled in the centre-back position. However, his versatility will most likely see him play in the left-back position under Mikel Arteta. Being that the two centre-back spots are currently occupied by William Saliba and Gabriel, Calafiori will take his starting role on the left/ With tendencies to drop in the midfield when needed.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Chelsea)
Everyone seems to be looking past Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The latest Chelsea signing, which they brought on a reported fee of €35.40m, was a standout performer for Leicester last season, scoring 15 goals and providing 20 assists in the Championship. He was the sole reason that the Foxes came back to the Premier League after a single season away.
This one is shaping up to be one of the most underrated FA Premier League transfers this season. Dewsbury-Hall usually plays in the central-mid position. But he excels on the flanks, from where he was most effective last season. Being that he will be playing under Enco Mareska again, who definitely got the best out of him, we are expecting Kiernan to thrive and maybe earn a starting spot in front of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
Savinho (Manchester City)
Girona was the standout team in La Liga last season. One of their best players was the young Brazilian winger Savinho. Also known as Savio, the talented Brazilian was groomed by Man City, being officially Troyes player, loaned out to Girona. All of these teams are members of the City Football Group. Making it rather obvious that Savinho would one day end up on the Blue side of Manchester.
Savinho scored nine goals and provided ten assists in La Liga last season. He is the type of player that Pep Guardiola likes. Savinho could end up being Erling Haaland’s perfect partner. He can feed him with assists and score by himself. However, he will be battling for his spot with Jérémy Doku, Julián Álvarez, and Phil Foden. If he does emerge, he could prove to be one of the most underrated football Premier League transfers this season.
Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United)
Has Erik ten Hag finally found the piece that he has been looking for to bolster his attack? Joshua Zirkzee was a hot prospect after his star performance for Bologna in the Serie A last season. After being ousted in Bayern Munich, Zirkzee found his place in Thiago Motta’s star side.
Zirkzee scored 13 and added seven assists, making it the most prolific season of his career. The best part is that ten Hag can utilise him on the flanks alongside Rasmus Højlund. Or in the very centre of the attack instead of Højlund. However, we shall have to wait and see how he adapts to life in Manchester.
