After five consecutive victories, Man U slips against Southampton with a late minute equalizer. The Red Devils were on a spectacular drive since the continuation of the season. They were closing in on Leicester for the elusive fourth spot in the Premier League. But the 2-2 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford may have cost them the coveted Champions League spot.
The fans at Old Trafford saw both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial score for Man U after Stuart Armstrong gave the Saints the lead.
But an uneventful second half led most to believe that the game would finish with another Manchester win. However, a late equalizer from Michael Obafemi in injury time leveled the scoreline at two apiece.
This result leaves the Red Devils at the number five spot, just behind Leicester and Chelsea. The worst thing is that Manchester United was not able to capitalize on the slip-ups that both the Blues and the Foxes had this weekend.
Manchester United are now unbeaten in their last 18 games and they are still given favorable odds to reach the Champions League spot, especially with the way Leicester has been playing recently.
