The Bundesliga, the best German football league, is about to enter the new season in a few weeks. Coaches with new tactics are already out there. Clubs are closing deals, bringing in new players, and letting go of the ones they found redundant.
As was the case with almost every transfer window in this league, the Bundesliga transfers this summer are more than interesting. So, I feel that now’s the right time to check how the most popular teams from this league strengthened their squads.
Yan Couto From Man City to Borussia Dortmund
Yan Couto is one of the Bundesliga latest transfers. The young Brazilian used to play for Coritiba in his country. But he only made two appearances, after which he joined Man City.
Couto never actually got to play for the Citizens. He has been part of the City’s squad since 2020 but went on a loan to Girona, Braga, and Girona again. Finally, the Brazilian found his way to one of the strongest teams in the Bundesliga, i.e. BVB.
Pascal Gross From Brighton to Borussia Dortmund
Before signing Couto, the club from Dortmund had appointed a veteran of this sport, Pascal Gross. The German’s amazing performance culminated in his goal-scoring record in the Premier League for the Seagulls.
Gross event went so far as to become one of the club’s legends. But now’s the time to say goodbye after seven years. He goes back home to Germany. Although 33, Gross’ signing is one of the key transfers in the Bundesliga.
João Palhinha From Fulham to Bayern Munich
The Bavarians made one of the latest Bundesliga transfers and signed the Portuguese player Palhinha. His contract will last until 30 June 2028. Joao was a key player for Portugal in Euro 2024.
He even received the highest ratings in the Navigators’ last game in the quarter-finals. Now, Max Eberl, the sports board member for Bayern Munich, says that the Bavarians have had an eye on Palhinha for quite a while. Die Bayern are once again the main favourites for the title in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
Martin Terrier From Rennes to Leverkusen
The current champions, Bayern Leverkusen, have also made some significant moves during this Bundesliga transfer window. One of the key signings they made included Martin Terrier.
Terrier has spent much of his career playing in Ligue 1 for several French clubs (Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, and Rennes). In fact, he made more than 200 appearances for these teams. Leverkusen is happy to have him by their side now, as their official statement said that they now have a dangerous, fast, and intelligent striker.
Rasmus Kristensen From Leeds to Eintracht
Less than a month ago, Eintracht made one of their main Bundesliga transfers by loaning the Dane, Kristensen, from Leeds. The Danish was on loan in Roma, where he played 31 games.
He also became part of the Red Bull Salzburg’s team but was not allowed to play due to the Premier League regulations. Kristensen’s market value recently increased as he played very well for his national team at Euro 2024. The club from Frankfurt was well aware of this, so they quickly took action.
