Another Premier League match is upon us. Manchester City may have a tough time against Leicester. The fact of the matter is that they have plenty of injuries that hinder their efficiency. However, after their victory over the Wolves on Monday, it is possible that they still have a lot of fight left in them.
The absence of injured players is still definitely going to be felt in the match. There are simply too many players that are absent. To make matters worse, it is the stars of the team.
Sergio Agüero had to go through a knee surgery in Barcelona after City defeated Burley. It is unclear when he’ll be able to get back into the game. João Cancelo hurt his foot and has been out of commission since September 9. He will not be back until the second half of October. Gabriel Jesus missed the match against the Wolves. Pep Guardiola has said that the player has a muscular problem and that he would be out for a month. Bernando Silva is also missing from City’s lineup.
The Foxes have never won three opening matches while climbing up. They also have a long history of losing to City. That being said, they do have a few aces up their sleeve. Jamie Vardy has already proven himself as a striker of not only Leicester but of the English National team as well. Paired with the absence of some of City’s key players, Leicester stands a real shot.
Who Will Win?
Man City is a powerful name with powerful stars. However, that means very little when so many of them are out. We predict a two-goal difference in favor of Leicester. It is not a matter of Brendan Rodgers versus Pep Guardiola. It is a matter of the best lineup versus making do.
Still, we can expect Manchester City to put up a solid fight. There will likely be a goal or two for their side. There isn’t going to be a tie unless the Sky Blues focus their efforts on defense.
