The long-awaited La Liga is finally starting again. The Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División was scheduled for Friday, September 11. Originally, Granada was supposed to clash against Athletic Club on their home field. However, a scheduling disagreement prevented this. Namely, a judge from the Spanish football federation has made a ruling. The competition cannot take place on either Mondays or Fridays.
This means that the first game is going to be between Eibar and Celta Vigo. After that match, the fans are going to enjoy the game between Granada and Athletic Club. Saturday is also bringing us a match between Cadiz and Osasuna.
On Sunday, September 13, Alavés are going to take on Real Betis. Real Valladolid’s opponents are Real Sociedad. Villareal and Huesca are also clashing. The final match of the day is going to be between Valencia as the host and Levante.
Why Are Some Teams Missing?
The weekend is gripping with seven matches. This is to allow teams involved in European matches to recharge. These teams include Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Getafe, among others. Instead, they are going to be returning to the competition in the following rounds.
This does not mean that the weekend is going to be uneventful. True, many fans are following the competition to see the latest El Clásico.
