PSG qualified for the semifinals of the 2020 Champions League for the first time after 25 years with two late goals against Atalanta. The Parisians were near elimination come the 90th minute of the match when they miraculously turned the match on its head and the result in their favor.
La Dea started off strong and immediately imposed their attacking style of football. So after a few initial chances, they managed to score out of one of them when Mario Pasalic surprised Keylor Navas with a precise kick to give Atalanta the lead in the 27th minute.
However, PSG stepped up and started taking over the match in the second half. They managed to stifle Atalanta’s offense and force them to defend and potentially attack out of counters. The turning point of the match was Kylian Mbappe entering the field. But the Italian side was still able to defend successfully.
But then came the dying moments of the match and injury time. Marquinhos grabbed an equalizer in the 90th minute of the match thanks to a Neymar assist. And then the dagger! Mbappe finds Choupo-Moting who nets the ball into the net without hesitation for a late lead in the 93rd.
PSG is finally though to the semis of the Champions League while Atalanta’s Cinderella story comes to an unfortunate end.
